Bangladesh sets up poultry and dairy farms to reduce poverty

 

 

Poultry farms have been an integral part of poverty-reduction efforts in Bangladesh, according to the Livestock Department of the Narsingdi region. 

 

More than 230 poultry farms and 110 dairy farms have been set up in the country in the past year.

 

The Department also vaccinated over 7 million poultry birds in the area and sold Tk 912,972 (EUR 13,382) worth of vaccines for cattle and poultry during the period.

 

Meanwhile, it also provided training to more than 7,900 unemployed people to set up poultry farms.
