China VB1: Weak demand drags down prices (week ended Aug 6, 2023)

Despite decreased output, vitamin B1 market remained soft amid lacklustre demand.
Tianxin Pharmaceutical stopped the production of vitamin B1, vitamin B6 and folic acid for 8-10 weeks starting July.
In the local market, transaction prices of vitamin B1 dipped to the range of RMB98.20-110/kg.
Export prices fell to US$13.60/kg.
Weak buying interest will weigh down the prices of vitamin B1.
