Cautious mood limits China lysine price rise

Lysine prices were stable during the week ending August 13.

Several lysine producers, who halted operation for routine plant maintenance or limited output, stood firm on prices. However, a handful of traders who were eager to clear stocks offered sight discounts while demand for lysine was slow even as hog prices strengthened by 16% over the past several weeks.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine consolidated around RMB4.50/kg.
