Russia's Jan-June poultry imports down 8.9 percent on-year
Russia imported in January-June 534,800 tonnes of poultry, 8.9 percent less than in the corresponding period last year, the federal customs service reported Monday (August 13).
The imported poultry was worth US$419.1 million, compared with US$384.1 million a year earlier.
Russia's own poultry output this year is forecast by the agriculture ministry to increase to 2.56 million tonnes from 2.25 million tonnes in 2006.
