Russia lifts ban on seven Vietnamese seafood exporters

The Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (VPSS) will remove the suspension of seafood imports from seven Vietnamese companies, including five frozen pangasius producers and two frozen shrimp processors, reports VASEP.

Russia had suspended imports of Vietnamese pangasius fillets since the 31 January as these exporters were not able to meet the high food hygiene requirements.

According to the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (Nafiqad), 602 Vietnamese enterprises have met food hygiene criteria for export to Europe but Russia accepts only 34 firms.
