Taiwan Sugar Buys 27,000 MT US Soy, Corn From Mitsui
The government-owned Taiwan Sugar Corp. bought 21,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 soybeans and 6,000 tons of U.S. No. 2 yellow corn from Japanese trading house Mitsui in a buy tender concluded Wednesday, said a Taipei-based trader who received the tender result.
Taiwan Sugar bought soybeans at $291.55 per ton and corn at $165.39/ton, both cost and freight, to the port of Kaohsiung, the trader said.
The shipment date for the combined cargo of soybeans and corn is set either between Sept. 1-15 from the U.S. Gulf, or between Sept. 16-30 from the Pacific Northwest, the trader said.
