Brazil's meat exports soar in July this year
Brazil's combined beef, pork and poultry exports for July this year surged 43.3 percent to US$786 million, compared with US$548 million during the same period in 2004, according to the country's government.
July's beef and poultry exports rose 57.3 percent and 35.8 percent year-on-year respectively.
Beef export revenue totalled US$1.752 billion from January to July this year, up 33 percent compared with US$1.313 billion during the same period in 2004, industry reports said.
1.299 million tonnes of on-the-bone beef were exported from January to July this year, up 35 percent compared with 965,000 tonnes during the same period in 2004.
Industry reports estimated Brazilian beef export revenue this year at US$3 billion, compared with US$2.457 billion the previous year.
