Black Sea May Become World's Largest Grain Exporter

The world's biggest grain exporter could soon be the Black Sea region of Russia, the Ukraine and Kazakstan, according to a leading international analyst.

Brian Basting, from Advance Trading US, says the region has excellent soils for growing wheat and an improving infrastructure capable of exporting to overseas markets.

He says the region will easily access the Mediterranean and North Africa markets in the next five years.

"And I think it's a potential that they could continue to grow, basically they have not fully stretched their production capability or their port capability.

Basting believed that there was still room for growth in both areas, and they could become the largest exporter in the world.
