China Calcium Phosphate: Prices rebound amid output fall (week ended Aug 8, 2022)

High costs of production, in conjunction with lower output, supported calcium phosphate prices to move higher. Sales of calcium phosphate remained limited, however, as feed producers were cautious.

Export prices of high-grade calcium phosphate rebounded to US$0.45/kg while prices of second-tier products rose to US$0.44/kg. Monocalcium phosphate export prices stayed at US$0.77/kg.

Locally, prices of higher-grade calcium phosphate increased to the range of RMB2.95-3.02/kg. Lower grade products prices climbed to RMB2.95/kg.

Meanwhile, monocalcium phosphate transact prices were unchanged at RMB5.16/kg.

Producers ae less likely to lower prices while production is low. As livestock farmers prepare for the upcoming Mid-autumn Festival, demand for feed and hence calcium phosphate is expected to improve.
