Dead ducks in Germany positive for bird flu
Two ducks found dead near Munich in southern Germany have been tested positive for the H5N1 bird flu virus while the third dead duck was contaminated with a milder strain, according to state laboratory.
The three ducks were found near Speichersee at a lake northeast of Munich, said a spokeswoman for the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Elke Reinking. The surrounding area will be searched for any other dead birds.
