Shipments of Brazilian beef to Egypt increased 40 percent on-year
In July, Brazil exported a total of US$ 355 million in beef. Egypt continues as the main buyer of the Brazilian product.
Exports to Egypt rose 40 percent on-year in July to US$55 million, with shipments of 43,890 tonnes.
Other Arab countries importing beef are Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Libya. These four countries accounted for a fifth of Brazilian exports in July.
Brazilian exports of cattle beef for the first seven months of the year totalled US$ 2 billion, which represented an increase of 15.5 percent when compared to the same period last year. Shipments totalled 1.29 million tonnes, with growth of 2.3 percent.
