Ukraine expects two million tonnes grain export in August

About two million tonnes of grain crops export are expected by the Ukrainian Grain Association in August.

"I think two million tonnes is our working figure to be really reached," Volodymyr Klymenko, the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association, said at a press-conference.

According to Klymenko, agricultural enterprises have been increasing export since early August, but everything will depend of the forecast to be provided by the USDA.

He confirmed the previous forecast of 19-20 million tonnes for grain crops export in the 2012-13 marketing year (July 2012-June 2013).

Klymenko emphasised Ukraine would be capable of exporting 12 million tonnes of corn, about two million tonnes of barley and 5-6 million tonnes of wheat.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Agrarian Ministry's forecast for the export of grain crops in the 2012-13 marketing year was up 5-15% to 21-23 million tonnes.
