Russia to allot feed grain to drought-hit regions
The Russian government will distribute only feed grain from its stocks to regions devastated by drought, First Deputy Prime Minister in charge of agriculture Viktor Zubkov said Friday (Aug 6).
"We will distribute feed grain by quotas," Zubkov said.
Feed grain accounts only for one third of the government's 9.5 million tonnes in intervention stocks. Zubkov did not say what the government intended to do with the milling grain.
