UK Chief Vet: Britain's livestock movement ban eased
Britain's movement ban on all livestock susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease remains in place, but will be eased as of 2300 GMT Wednesday (August 8) to allow for movement to abattoirs and collection of dead animals outside of restricted zones.
Britain's movement ban was put in place following a foot-and-mouth outbreak in southern England. The ban in Scotland was lifted earlier Wednesday.
