Brazil poultry can replace US shortfall in Russia

Brazil's poultry industry can quite easily fill the gap in demand for chicken in the Russian market after Russia's decision to stop US agriculture imports, ITAR-TASS reports.

Brazilian capacities allow supplying an additional 150,000 tonnes of chicken to Russia to fully make up for the US quota, Brazilian Animal Protein Association president Francisco Turra said.

By increasing supplies to Russia, Brazil may already reach a record of four million tonnes this year, the vice-president and the head of the poultry sector of the association, Ricardo Santin, said.
