In April-July 2012, India's total oilmeals export has reduced and is reported at 1,334,788 tonnes compared to 1,402,835 tonnes during the same period of last year.
According to a release from the Solvent Extractor's Association of India, this is a dip of 5% and mainly due to disparity in crushing resulted into less availability of oilmeals for the export. Export of oilmeals during July 2012 is reported at 274,635 tonnes compared to 281,879 tonnes in July 2011. Oilmeal import by South Korea from India during April-July 2012 is reported at 354,143 tonnes compared to 228,764 tonnes last year consisting of 47,500 tonnes of soymeal, castor meal of 166,628 tonnes and 140,015 tonnes of rapeseed meal.
Vietnam another major market imported of 144,611 tonnes compared to 199,158 tonnes last year consisting of 40,075 tonnes of soymeal, 10,934 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 502 tonnes of castor meal and entire quantity of 93,100 tonnes of rice bran extraction.
Japan imported 85,181 tonnes of soymeal compared to 295,054 tonnes of last year. Thailand imported of 89,528 tonnes compared to 73,040 tonnes consisting 59,128 tons of soymeal, 30,311 tonnes of rapeseed meal and small quantity of 89 tonnes of castor meal. Iran imported of 451,915 tonnes compared to 86,212 tonnes consisting 435,915 tonnes of soymeal and 16,000 tonnes of rapeseed meal. Europe and others have imported 30,618 tonnes compared to 43,914 tonnes of last year, the release said.
