South Africa yellow corn imports rose last week

 

 

Yellow corn imports into South Africa rose by 13,321 tonnes to 23,687 last week from the week before, the South African Grain Information Service  (SAGIS) reported Tuesday (August 7).

 

South Africa has imported a total of 381,207 tonnes of yellow corn so far this season, creeping closer to the 915,142 tonnes shipped into the country last season.

 

Both the yellow and white corn exports for the week fell by 3,799 tonnes to 4,991 tonnes. So far a total of 75,663 tonnes have been exported.

 

Wheat imports for the week ended Aug. 3 rose to 520,858 tonnes after 21,991 tonnes were delivered from Canada, SAGIS said.

 

Exports fell by 1,860 tonnes to 2,520 tonnes during the week, bringing the total exports since October last year to 223,669 tonnes.
