US beef processor recalls products over possible salmonella outbreak
Beef Packers Inc., a US beef company is recalling hundreds of thousands of ground beef products because of concerns it may be linked to an outbreak of salmonella.
USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said the company is recalling 825,769 pounds of ground beef produced between June 5, 2009 through June 23.
The beef was distributed to retail distribution centers in Arizona, California, Colorado and Utah.
USDA said because the beef was repackaged under different retail names, consumers should check with the store they bought beef from to determine if they have purchased any recalled beef.
