UK imposes voluntary ban on livestock exports

The UK has imposed a voluntary ban on exports of all animals and animal products as a result of an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said Saturday (August 4).

The ministry said the ban covered live animals, carcasses, meat and milk and was effective immediately.
