Brazilian chicken producer invests US$5.3 million in slaughterhouse
 

Avicola Carminatti, a Brazilian chicken producer, plans to build a US$5.3 million slaughterhouse in southern Parana state, said the company's president Joel Carminatti.

To be located in the Santo Antonio do Sudoeste municipality, the facility will specialise in hen slaughter, with a daily slaughtering capacity of 30,000 birds. Output from the plant will be bound for domestic and international markets.

The new facility is expected to double small poultry farms within the municipality from the current number of about 140.
