V&V Walsh signs meat supply deal with China's Grand Farm

V&V Walsh, a West Australia meat processor, has signed a deal to supply boxed meat to the largest red meat importer in China.

The agreement is estimated to be worth US$1 billion and involves China's Grand Farm and the Inner Mongolian government. V&V Walsh will require an additional 500,000 lambs and 30,000 cattle yearly during the first stage of the project.

The deal will also include cross investments from the private sector, including in Inner Mongolia to develop new processing plants and feedlot systems.
