Hamlet Protein appoints global swine manager

Hamlet Protein has appointed Jessika van Leeuwen as category manager of swine.

The Denmark-based company has been investing in species specific knowledge, as it aims to increase its share of global piglet, calf and chick markets.

Van Leeuwen graduated from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. She also completed a PhD on reproductive physiology at Wageningen University.

Van Leeuwen has held senior position at industry-leading companies in animal feed and feed additives.

"Hamlet Protein is recognised in the market for its flagship product, HP300, that is known to consistently deliver value in piglet nutrition. I am looking forward to become part of the global team and continue to build on Hamlet Protein's network and experience," said van Leeuwen.

While Hamlet Protein offers products across all species, it has become well known for the application of HP300 in piglet nutrition. HP300 increases feed intake, resulting in improved weight gain and feed conversion ratios when compared to other protein sources.

Erik Visser, chief executive officer of Hamlet Protein, said: "We strive to be a true customer centric company. In our case, that means being able to deliver best in class support to our customers across the world. That is why we are investing in global species managers.

"I am confident that Jessika, with her academic and professional credentials, will contribute to further strengthening our position as market leader in soy specialty protein ingredients for piglets."
