Turkey starts buying feed barley in tender
Turkey's state grain board TMO initially bought about 50,000 tonnes of animal feed barley from optional origins in a tender which closed on August 3, European traders said.
The tender sought a total 515,000 tonnes and more is expected to be purchased later on the day.
The first purchase involved 50,000 tonnes for shipment to the port of Derince, Turkey, bought at $275.80 a tonne c&f from trading house Viterra, they said.
Purchases are provisional and subject to final confirmation in coming days.
Shipment of the barley was sought between September 1 and September 15 to Turkish ports.
