ATIP to launch new poultry house technology in Georgia
Vietnam-based American Technologies Incorporated Petroleum (ATIP), will introduce a newly patented aerobic bioreactor technology on poultry farms in Georgia.
The technology helps decompose waste to generate methane, which can be used to produce electricity. The bioreactor is able to run on wood chops, manure and carcasses.
The bioreactor can decompose 504 tonnes of chicken manure, 1,500 tonnes of wood chips and 54 tonnes of defeathered chicken carcasses per cycle.
The manure and wood chips are expected to generate a combined 476,000kw per hour of energy.
A byproduct of the process is nutrient-rich organic fertiliser, which is odour-free and safe to handle. The technology can help reduce sludge and also eliminates the problem of groundwater contamination and waste storage, which in turn will help farmers reduce removal and tipping costs.
