Indonesian poultry giant sees profit in first half 2005

Poultry giant, Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, reported a net profit of 42.39 billion ruppiah for the first half of 2005, compared with a net loss of 144.02 billion ruppiah during the same period the previous year.

Company sales rose 22 percent to 2.70 trillion ruppiah from 2.22 trillion ruppiah during the same period the previous year.

The company attributed the turnaround to cost efficiencies.
