Vietnam's feed, raw material imports rose by 4.5% in June
Vietnam's imports of animal feed and raw materials in June 2024 decreased by 4% compared to May 2024 but increased by 4.5% compared to June 2023, reaching US$423.75 million, according to preliminary statistics from the country's General Department of Customs.
Overall, in the first six months of 2024, imports of this product group reached over US$2.56 billion, an increase of 9.6% compared to the first six months of 2023.
The largest import of animal feed and raw materials was from the Argentine market, accounting for 28% of Vietnam's total import turnover of this product group and reaching nearly US$717.79 million, an increase of 21% compared to the first six months of 2023.
Ranked second is the United States, which accounted for 22.8% of imports and reached US$582.96 million in value, a sharp increase of 69.6% over the same period in 2023.
Next is Brazil; in the first six months of 2024, imports from this market reached over US$371.76 million, accounting for 14.5% of total turnover, an increase of 15.2% compared to the first six months of 2023.
