Bunge enters service agreement to Minnesota Soybean Processors

Bunge North America has ventured with Minnesota Soybean Processors to develop its soybean processing facilities in Brewster, Minnesota.

The agreement, which takes place in September 1, will have Bunge provide commercial and administrative support to the processing operations.

Greg Bechtel, general manager, Bunge Oilseed Processing, said in a statement that the service agreement with Minnesota Soybean Processors will give Bunge access to additional meal and oil supplies in an area of the country that the company doesn't have a presence.

Minnesota Soybean Processors Inc. is a co-op with nearly 2,400 farmer members from Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa. In December 2003, Minnesota Soybean Processors opened a crush plant in Brewster, Minnesota which has recently included a vegetable oil refinery and biodiesel plant.

St. Louis-based Bunge North America is the North American operating arm of Bunge Ltd., a food and feed ingredient company that operates grain elevators, grain and oilseed processing plants, edible oil refineries and food processing facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
