Finland's Agali Group to venture in halal meat trade

Agali Group, a Finnish meat company, is investing in a new abattoir and meat refining facility in Turku, Finland.

The new facility will have 2,500 square metres instead of the present 150 square metres. Agali is also planning to open a meat wholesale outlet in Helsinki that will sell 50-100 different products.

Agali specialises in halal meat. According to Managing Director Serggio Agali, there is a large market for halal meat in Finland, but the meat is often imported from Sweden and Germany.
