National Beef Packing Company, LLC, has appointed Tim Klein as its president and chief executive officer as a replacement for John Miller.

Miller has served as National Beef's CEO since 1992. He will continue serving on the company's board of managers and will also work as a consultant with the firm.

Klein, who was also appointed to the board, has been serving as president and chief operating officer of National Beef since 1997.

National Beef has operations in Kansas, California, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. The company had sales of US$5.8 billion in fiscal 2008, and US Premium Beef is the majority owner.
