Russia's animal feed output up while additive output doubles
Russia's animal feed industry continues to race ahead with steep production increases, according to the latest report by the Federal State Statistics Service.
The animal feed industry posted an annual 9.4 percent production increase the first six months of the year, following a 5.8 percent production rise in 2005.
Most of the increase came from higher demand in the poultry sector.
Russia's compound feed output amounted last month to 899,000 tonnes, up 9.8 percent on-year.
Meanwhile, output of protein and vitamin additives more than doubled on-year to 8,900 tonnes.
