Malaysian Fishermen Urged Into Aquaculture
Malaysia's Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Ministry Tuesday urged fishermen's associations nationwide to delve into aquaculture to augment their income.
Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said if worked at seriously, aquaculture could provide better value compared to fishing even if the necessary capital was higher.
"Small operators like fishermen can do it on a small scale and it is easier to manage as compared to depending on the capricious nature of the sea," he said after opening the National Fishermen's Association annual general meeting here.
