US National Pork Board collaborates with universities to address consumer questions on pork production

The US National Pork Board (NPB) is teaming up with land grant universities to tackle consumer inquiries related to pork production and products, Brownfield Ag News reported.
Through the Real Pork Trust Consortium, NPB aims to build consumer trust and address concerns surrounding the pork industry.
The consortium brings together the expertise of five universities: Iowa State University, the University of Minnesota, North Carolina State University, the University of Georgia, and North Carolina A & T State University.
These institutions provide specialists in various fields, including science communication, animal science, animal welfare, nutrition, agricultural economics, and sociology.
Bob Ruth, president of NPB, said that the Real Pork campaign will be a successful model for reaching a broader audience and enhancing support for agriculture. The primary focus of the campaign is to dispel myths about the pork industry and provide accurate information to consumers.
Currently in its planning phase, the trust consortium is set to reveal more details about its approach and planned initiatives in the fall.
