Malaysia's egg and chicken supply recovers, minister assures market stability

Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Malaysia's Agriculture and Food Security Minister, announced that the supply of eggs and chicken in the country has successfully surpassed the critical level, ensuring market stability, Malay Mail reported.

The minister attributed this positive development to the concerted efforts of the ministry in guaranteeing sufficient supply to meet consumer demand.

He said that any potential disruptions, such as import issues with corn and soybeans, will not affect the overall supply chain.

The cultivation of corn has commenced, and while the supply might take some time to recover, the ministry remains proactive in addressing potential challenges.

The minister made these remarks during the inauguration of the Klang Area Farmers' Association office building, where he also addressed the current state of rice supply in the market. He reassured the public that the country's rice supply remains sufficient, even if there has been a slight reduction in the quantity available.

Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu urged manufacturers not to hoard supplies in their facilities. Instead, he emphasized the importance of promptly releasing available stock into the market to ensure a continuous and stable supply chain for rice products.
