China culls more than 2,000 pigs due to ASF since start of 2021
11 cases of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported in eight provinces in China this year, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Since the start of 2021, 2,216 pigs have been culled due to ASF.
The government said the overall situation of the epidemic is stable but the current prevention and control situation is still very complex.
In recent times, new strains with weakened virulence have appeared. The strains produce mild symptoms but the incubation period is long.
