Cargill may supply Iranian wheat to India

Global trading company Cargill Inc. is expected to supply wheat of Iranian origin to India's State Trading Corporation, a trader familiar with the matter said Thursday (Jul 26).

Cargill has orders to supply 130,000 tonnes of wheat under a tender issued by STC and finalised earlier this month.

"Part of the supplies, or about 40,000 tonnes, may be sourced from Iran," the executive, who did not want to be named, told Dow Jones Newswires.

STC officials declined to comment.

"We are yet to finalise the origin. It's too early since the shipment is to be made only in September," an official at Cargill said.
