Ukraine expects good soybean harvest
 

 

Ukraine was expected to have high yields for the soybean harvest, according to industry reports.

 

Soybean yields for 2005 was expected to rise to 2-2.5 tonnes/hectare compared with the previous year.

 

Ukraine's soybean harvest in 2004 totalled 363,300 tonnes, at an average yield of 1.42 tonnes/hectare, according to the country's government.

 

Domestic soybean has been sown on 435,100 hectares in 2005, compared with 273,800 hectares the previous year.
