Poland confirms eighth ASF outbreak this year
The eighth outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Poland this year was reported in the country's northwestern region, about 10km from its border with Germany.
ASF outbreak No. 2022/8 was designated on July 15, 2022 at a farm where five pigs were kept, located in the village of Strzelczyn, municipality of Chojna, Gryfino County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
At a farm where an outbreak of ASF has been detected, the Veterinary Inspectorate implements all measures related to the eradication of the disease, in accordance with procedures and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687, including the culling and disposal of pigs, cleaning and disinfection, and designation of infected and at-risk areas.
