Alltech to build aqua, layer facility in Kentucky, US

Global animal nutrition company Alltech, is planning to develop an aquaculture and poultry layer facility in Pikeville, Kentucky, and will become the first occupant on the new Marion Branch industrial site.

The project incorporates objectives of the Shaping Our Appalachian Region initiative by Governor Steve Beshear and United States Representative Hal Rogers in late 2013 to revitalise the struggling economy in eastern Kentucky counties.

Alltech's core business in animal nutrition, which is about implementing sustainable and natural solutions designed to help farmers feed a rapidly growing world population, goes hand in hand with the initiative.
