Russia's grain crop reaches over 30 million tonnes
As of July 22, Russia harvested grains throughout the areas of 10.3 million hectares (22.7% of the forecast), and produced nearly 30.7 million tonnes of grains, an increase of 11.2 million tonnes compared with the index on the same date last year.
The average yield totalled 2.98 tonnes/hectare (in 2012 - 2.44 tonnes/hectare), announced the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, agrarians harvested 25.4 million tonnes of wheat against 16.4 million tonnes in 2012, throughout 8.1 million hectares (32.5% of the forecast), with the yield of 3.15 tonnes/hectare (in 2012 - 2.54 tonnes/hectare).
Russia harvested more than 2.6 million tonnes of barley (in 2012 - 1.5 million tonnes) throughout 985,400 hectares (11.2% of the forecast), with the yield of 2.7 tonnes/hectare (in 2012 - 2.54 tonnes/hectare).
Agrarians harvested 287,100 tonnes of winter rapeseed (in 2012 - 69,300 tonnes) throughout 170,300 hectares (71.8% of the forecast), with the yield of 1.69 tonnes/hectare (in 2012 - 1.34 tonnes/hectare).
To date, agricultural enterprises of the Southern, North-Caucasian Federal Districts, and some regions of the Central and Volga Federal Districts provide grain harvesting works. Agricultural producers of the Republic of Mari-El and Vladimir oblast also started harvesting grain crops.
