Turkmenistan wheat crop falls to 1.3 million tonnes, misses forecast
Turkmenistan's wheat harvest missed its forecast of 1.6 million tonnes, falling 7% from a year ago to 1.3 million tonnes due to drought.
The harvest will be sufficient to meet domestic demand of about 1.2 million tonnes in the Central Asian republic, but exports will not be increased.
Turkmenistan became a wheat exporter for the first time in 2010, when it harvested 1.4 million tonnes of wheat.
