France hit by new mad cow disease case
The French government has reported a new case of BSE, or mad cow disease, in a "Charolais" cow, which was born ten years ago in a herd of the French Vienne department.
This was the eighth BSE case detected in the department since 2001, according to the government.
In response, the government would cull a dozen potentially infected cattle according to existing regulations.
