Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor discusses with Chinese customs authority on matters concerning fighting ASF

Representatives from Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) had discussed with China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) — through a videoconference this month — on issues related to combating African swine fever (ASF) in both countries.

Representatives from Rosselkhoznadzor and the Federal Centre for Animal Health Protection spoke about the compartmentalisation system of pig farms adopted in Russia to counter the spread of dangerous animal diseases, while also receiving information from the GAC about the Chinese compartmentalisation system and ASF monitoring.

The joint work conducted by Rosselkhoznadzor and the GAC will make it possible to assess risks associated with possible pork shipments from Russia to China and to develop an effective mechanism to ensure epizootic safety during trade in this type of product, Rosselkhoznadzor said.
