China opens "one of its largest hatcheries yet"

The Huayu International Poultry Incubation Centre, located in Handan, China's Hebei province, was officially launched in conjunction with the 2018 International Layer Innovation Summit.

In addition to including an international training and conference centre, the hatchery, which boasts world-class biosecurity, drainage and construction equipment, is set to produce 60 million female commercial chicks annually.

The centre is run by Huayu Agricultural Technology Co. Ltd., a distributor of Hy-Line International, a world leader in layer poultry genetics that produces and sells brown and white egg stocks to more than 120 countries worldwide.

"I congratulate the Huayu team, headed by the company's president, Mr Lianzeng Wang, for their vision of the changing demands and leading the change in the China layer market," expressed Jonathan Cole, president of Hy-Line International.
