Chinese lysine producers stand firm but prices consolidate lower

Lysine prices were stable to lower during the week ending July 23.

Lysine producers stood firm while output dropped amid production cut and plant maintenance halts. However, domestic sales of lysine remained sluggish as hog feed demand was flat while farmers suffered severe losses.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine remained unchanged at RMB4.40-4.60/kg.
