Dicamba chemical producersurge full court to review order prohibiting sales in the US
Dicamba makers Bayer AG subsidiary Monsanto, BASF and Corteva Agriscience have petitioned the 9th United States Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a court ruling blocking dicamba sales in the US, Reuters reported.
In June, a federal appeals court ruled that weed killer dicamba can no longer be sold in the US.
The three companies have asked for an en banc review to the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals. They said the initial decision by the three-judge panel had made errors with regards to due-processes and administrative law.
The ruling found that the US Environmental Protection Agency had significantly understated the risks related to dicamba use, a chemical contained in herbicides used on genetically engineered soybeans and cotton.
