Peru's 2026 north-central anchovy season reaches only 24% of quota with 1.44 million tonnes remaining

The south zone's second-half season opened on 1 July with zero catch recorded through 13 July, while the completed 2025 B season landed 1.571 million tonnes against a 1.63 million tonne quota.

Peru's 2026 north-central anchovy A season has landed 466,285 tonnes since opening on 9 April, equivalent to 24.36% of the 1.91 million tonne quota, leaving 1.447 million tonnes available for harvest as of 13 July 2026, according to data from China's feed industry information network.

The completed 2025 north-central B season, which ran from 7 November 2025 to 20 January 2026, recorded a total catch of 1,570,999 tonnes against a quota of 1.63 million tonnes, representing 96.38% completion.

In the southern fishing zone, the first-half 2026 season ran from 1 January to 30 June against a quota of 251,000 tonnes, with total catches reaching 149,750 tonnes — leaving 101,250 tonnes of quota unused. The second-half southern season opened on 1 July with a further quota of 251,000 tonnes, but no catch had been recorded through 13 July.
