India-Myanmar joint venture to build soybean crushing and oil plant in Pathein, importing soybean meal for regional fish feed supply

The venture will also export approximately 200,000 tonnes of black gram per year from Ayeyawady Region to India via Pathein Port.

An Indian-Myanmar joint venture between Super Power Trading Company Private Limited of India and Green Rise Company Limited of Myanmar is to build a soybean crushing, oil extraction and refining plant in Pathein Industrial Zone, Ayeyawady Region, to produce refined soybean oil for Myanmar's domestic market.

The project will also import soybean meal for fish feed production, supplying aquaculture farms across Ayeyawady Region - one of Myanmar's most significant freshwater and coastal fisheries areas.

On the export side, the joint venture plans to ship approximately 20,000 tonnes of black gram per month, equivalent to around 200,000 tonnes per year, from Pathein Port to Chennai Port in India, along with other regional agricultural products. Indian goods required for the domestic market will be imported through the same trade corridor.
