Ukraine poultry population up 13.1%

In June, Ukraine's poultry population rose by 13.1% to 233.067 million heads, compared with May, according to the State Statistics Committee.

In private farms, the poultry population went up by 21.5% or 22.931 million heads, and in specialised farms the increase was 4.2% or 4.118 million heads.

In comparison with July 1, 2009, poultry population rose by 4.7% or 10.525 million heads.

In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 6.4% or 6.224 million heads, and in private farms the poultry population rose by 3.4% or 4.301 million heads.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in May the poultry population grew by 11.3% or 20.846 million heads, compared with April, to 206.018 million heads as of June 1, 2010.
