Thailand confirms first ASF outbreak of the year

Thailand has reported its first African swine fever (ASF) outbreak of the year, Swineweb reported.

The outbreak was confirmed in Nong Khai province, near the Laos border.

ASF is highly contagious among pigs and poses significant threats to the swine industry due to its high mortality rates and economic impact.

Thai authorities are implementing measures to contain and eradicate the virus. These measures include quarantine, culling of affected and at-risk swine, and enhancing biosecurity protocols.
