Bulgaria reaps 67% of total wheat acreage
As the average yield stands at 4.07 tonnes per hectare, Bulgaria has so far harvested 67% of the total wheat area, the agriculture ministry said on Tuesday (July 17).
Bulgaria has so far harvested three million tonnes of wheat, the agriculture ministry said in a press release.
The wheat harvest has ended in the region of Montana, in north western Bulgaria, where the average yield is 3.74 tonnes per hectare.
Last year Bulgaria harvested 4.25 million tonnes from 99.4% of fields put under wheat.
